This popular event on 12th January this year was well attended and it is always an opportunity to catch up with regulars and welcome new drivers. Our thanks to Peta and Steve Benson for hosting this again.
We will be very sad to see Pam Parsonson retire from the post of Treasurer - she has made a maginificent contribution of 17 years to the society and will be sorely missed. Fortunately we have an excellent replacement - Geoffrey Peel - welcome to the team Geoffrey!
Annual General Meeting
The AGM will be held in St Andrews Church Meeting Room on 26th March 2018 at 7.30pm for 8pm
A few of our committee members attended locally provided courses and found them very interesting and informative. If anyone is interested in further courses please contact Amelia.Worley@ageuknorfolk.org.uk
We are delighted to have Rachel Joliffe also on the team and she is now working for two weeks every month supporting Liz Traynier.
Norfolk and Norwich hospital appointments and further afield
As usual we have a large number of requests for trips to the N & N and and we are always short of drivers for long distances. Can you help - if so please contact Liz Traynier or Rachel Jolliffe, Coordinators on 01263 711243.
We were delighted that Holt Area Caring Society received the Queen's Award in June 2014 for services to the community. This was a wonderful recognition of all that the committee and drivers do. Our Chair Peta Benson and Coordinator Liz Traynier were invited to a garden party at Buckingham Palace to celebrate. The award itself was presented in Binham in September by the Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk, Richard Jewson. Norman Lamb MP, whose late mother used the charity, was also at the ceremony.
Both Cromer and Norfolk and Norwich hospitals offer 10% discount to HACS drivers in their cafés on production of the Holt Area Caring Society badge.
Drivers - a swivel seat support is available to help clients get in and out of your car. Please collect from the garage at 63, Cromer Rd and return as soon as possible for others to use.
We are very grateful for the support of NCC for their annual grant.
